Artist Bio

This series of my artwork began 8 years ago when I first started playing around with computers and got into Fractals. Fractals fascinated me, as you may be able to gather from some of my work. It has definitely helped me discover new ways of looking at things and gives the viewer different perspectives on objects in nature.

All my work represents some aspect of our reality. Whether it’s the deep oceans, the rain forest, space, or a math or physics theory;  you will find all of  these influences in my work. I didn’t realize where all the geometric figures came from until I was discussing my work with a friend and she asked me about my background. I told her that I spent 3 years taking math, physics, and chemistry classes in preparation for a degree in Electrical Engineering. Well, those 3 years paid off in my art, however I changed majors after all that work and focused my energy on a degree in Information Systems - a lot less stressful!

My artwork is created using Adobe Photoshop on a PC. I put the emphasis on using because the computer doesn’t just pop this stuff out at the click of a button. I start off with a blank page, or an abstract photograph, and then just go with the flow until it looks like something that feels right to me; then I save it and go back to it in a few days to add more and more details to it until there is nothing else I can do to improve it. It’s all fun and not work, I truly love it.
