Seafoam Sky

Here’s a sunrise picture from last winter. The picture was ok off the camera but due to the power lines and other stuff I tried another approach.
These Waves
by randy on Jun.14, 2009, under digital art, videos
Here’s a hypnotic and meditative video I made a while ago and I just converted to a digital format for the web. The song is from a band called Young American Primitive who released one album in 1993.
Digital Master
by randy on May.12, 2009, under news
Well it’s official now, I have been published in a magazine by the IEEE called Computer Graphics. It’s a hard core magazine geared towards researchers and scientists with some very interesting content that’s way over my head! They dubbed me the “Digital Master” and I’m totally thrilled! They used one of my images on the cover and I have a two page article that has 3 other pictures. It’s great exposure for me and my art and I’m hoping more will come out of it. Help spread the word! I haven’t been cleared to link to the article unfortunately but will if they allow it. Here’s a scan of the front cover of the magazine.
Caribbean Sunset

This was the first sunset of my trip to Jamaica and it was beautiful! It was just a little better in person!
Jamaican Lizard
by randy on Apr.15, 2009, under nature, photography
I found this little guy in a tree in our yard and he was in a perfect spot to capture the color of his chest sack. Lots more pictures from my trip to Jamaica to come, I’ll add a separate gallery section soon.
Spirals
by randy on Apr.01, 2009, under abstract, digital art, photoshop
I had fun making this image with a Wacom tablet and a cool brush in Photoshop. Mostly playing around but I think it turned out pretty good. The original image is huge and the detail is amazing! This is the last post before I head to Jamaica for a family vacation. Stay tuned for lots of tropical photography when I get back…
Desert Blooms
by randy on Mar.29, 2009, under flowers, photography
I took a motorcycle ride down to Boulder City, south of Las Vegas, today and found lots of blooming cacti off of the highway. Here’s a nice shot with Lake Mead in the background. I’ll add my spring flower series to my gallery soon; it’s been a productive weekend for photography around here!
Golden Past
by randy on Mar.26, 2009, under photography, reworked digital
Here’s a picture I took on my way through a ghost town called Goldfield Nevada. There was not much going on in this little dusty town which was once a gold town mecca during the boom of the early 1900’s. It was once the largest city in Nevada around that time. I felt that it needed some heavy digital rework to try and cheer it up. Nostalgic I think is the best euphemism I could come up with right now.
Cherry Blossom
by randy on Mar.18, 2009, under flowers, photography
The Cherry blossom trees are really popping around here now! I got this shot in my backyard with a new Macro lens I got for Christmas. It’s a cool macro because it just screws on to your existing lens and adds the magnification and has a really shallow depth of field which makes shots like this nice.
