About me

Randy Kochis is a digital abstract artist and photographer.

All my work represents some aspect of our reality. Whether it’s the vast deep oceans, the rain forest, space, or a math or physics theory;  you will find all of  these influences in my work.

I didn’t realize where all the geometric figures came from until I was discussing my work with a friend and she asked me about my background. I told her that I spent 3 years taking math, physics, and chemistry classes in preparation for a degree in Electrical Engineering. Well, those 3 years paid off in my art, however I changed majors after all that work and focused my energy on a degree in Information Systems. So I guess you could say I’m a computer geek at heart.

My artwork is created using Adobe Photoshop on a PC and a variety of digital cameras. I put the emphasis on using because the computer doesn’t just pop this stuff out at the click of a button. I start off with a blank page, or an abstract photograph, and then just go with the flow until it looks like something that feels right to me; then I save it and go back to it in a few days to add more and more details to it until there is nothing else I can do to improve it. It’s all fun and not work, I truly love it.

I have been doing a lot of photography in the past few years which is turning out to be another passion. Guess I still can’t decide what I want to do when I grow up, sound familiar??
